Changes at MLA South West
The Board of MLA South West, the region’s strategic development agency for
museums, libraries and archives, has agreed a timetable for ceasing operations
by March 31, 2009.
Trustees have endorsed a plan to begin an internal
consultation process with the organisation’s 15 staff.
The charity’s chairman, Sir Geoffrey Holland said: “I and
my fellow Trustees recognise that this is a challenging time for the team and
our decisions are aimed at ensuring the best possible outcome from a difficult
situation.”
The results of the consultation will be made public in mid
September, 2008.
MLA Council has issued a press release which gives more details
on the future of the organisation. It can be read
